Beware of Phishing Emails Impersonating the National Tax Agency and Tax Offices
We have received numerous reports of emails impersonating the National Tax Agency, tax offices, and other public authorities. These emails urge recipients to click links or provide personal information by citing tax payments, tax refunds, or other tax procedures. We have heard from some of our clients that they, too, have received such emails. Please stay vigilant.
If you receive one of these emails, do not click any links, open any attachments, or provide any personal information. Note that the National Tax Agency and tax offices never request personal information or passwords by email.
Please note that the National Tax Agency and tax offices do not directly notify taxpayers by email of their tax amounts due, tax refund amounts, late payment interest, or similar matters. While e-Tax may send an email to your registered email address informing you that a notification has been delivered to your e-Tax message box, the actual tax amount or details of the notification are not included in the email itself.
Below are examples of such emails. The sender, subject line, and wording may vary. We appreciate your attention to this matter and ask for your cooperation in preventing fraud.
